That's my logic, too (I don't see anything Indo-European, and Finnish seems to have a lot of doubled letters which I also don't see), but I want a positive identification of whatever it is for the file notes.

Try transcribing the handwritten titles of the songs or a few adjacent sentences of the handwritten text into Google translate (http://translate.google.com/#), set the "from" language as Hungarian, and see if the sense comes somewhat out like the German.
