I am looking for a complete miniature score of Richard Strauss' "Alpine Symphony", preferably Edition Eulenberg. Is there anything available? Thank you!

Interesting...it would appear that DEFAULTSORT doesn't work here. It still sorts under 'Eine'.

Any Ein or Eine sorts as such

So even though the page includes the defaultsort template with 'Alpensinfonie, Eine, Op.54 (Strauss, Richard)', that doesn't work?
Re: "Alpine Symphony" by Richard Strauss
Oy, the default sort template works for Verdi's "I Masnadieri" and "I Lombardi", but not for Strauss??

In fact it is working for "Das Schloss am Meere", but why are "Eine" and "Ein" overriding the default sort? If they were numbers, we'd write "1".

In this context they mean "a" or "an."Operalala wrote:In fact it is working for "Das Schloss am Meere", but why are "Eine" and "Ein" overriding the default sort? If they were numbers, we'd write "1".

Re: "Alpine Symphony" by Richard Strauss
Defaultsort almost never works nowadays, because almost no category inclusion via the composer template uses the default sorting key. Instead, the code automatically generates a sortkey used in every category inclusion, moving some words to the end (but not others, hence the inconsistency). This is an issue to raise in the Feature/Bug forum.
The only exception to this is if the software cannot find anything to fix via sortkey anyway (essentially if 1. no particle is moved back and 2. there are no numbers in the title to expand [all numbers are automatically expanded to 4 digits zero-padded so that it will sort correctly between single and multiple digits]).
Of course, this does not apply to non-#fte template category inclusions.
