Trouble Locating Sheet Music

I tried ordering the sheet music for what appears to be Carl Stamitz's Clarinet Concerto No. 11 in E-flat major. I remember ordering it off a sheet music website which listed the piece as Concerto No. 11 in E-flat major. When I got the music, it was not the same piece as the one listed "Clarinet Concerto No. 11 in E-flat major" by Carl Stamitz in this album (When I listened to this piece, I liked it so I wanted to order the music for it). Does someone here know this work and where I could buy the correct sheet music?

I noticed last year, when I was trying to put library CD numbers next to the sheet music lists for my students, that we have that very same problem with this CD -- it isn't the same number 11. I haven't yet worked out what it is, except to say that none of the pieces of sheet music my university owns is the one on that CD.

So, by process of elimination, it won't be:
the Schirmer/Christmann edition (I think this would be what you ordered?); doesn't say no.11 on the cover, but it is mentioned in the text inside
the Darmstadt Concerto, pub-Hofmeister (also in the key of Eb)

As far as I can see, that leaves the Sikorski edition. It seems to be the only remaining one in the key of Eb, but we haven't got round to ordering it yet. Still, some of these editions are the same works, just with different editors. It might help if you can take a little dication off the CD, write the melody, and send it to a music shop before you actually pay for the Sikorski, just to make sure.

Wow, that's pretty strange. It's a shame too, it is such a nice piece. The Sabine Meyer recording I have of this piece lists it No. 11 as well. In the review below of the Naxos recording, the writer mentions Concerto No. 11 and how he appreciates the last movement. He says nothing about any mistakes with misnumbering.

By the way, the Schirmer edition was the one I ordered. Do know where I can order the Sikorski edition?

JW Pepper has the Sikorski, but now that I have checked the Sheet Music Plus website, I see there is an Eb concerto published by Edition Kunzelmann. Neither company has both. There is the possibility that either of these could be the same as the Schirmer edition, justed edited by someone else.

It looks like you really are going to have to do dictation, contact someone or send a scan of the melody and see which one it is.

[Edit] Just checked both publishers' websites. At least Sikorski gives movement names and orchestral instrumentation, which might help. The movements are: 1) Allegro, 2) Aria: Andante moderato, and 3) Rondo: Alla scherzo. Instrumentation is 2 flutes, 2 horns, strings. Would this be the one?

Those are the correct movements, with the Rondo alla scherzo being the last. This would be the one.
