Danse macabre, Op.40 (Saint-Saëns, Camille)

Post by bbruce »

I would like to add Danse macabre, Op.40 (Saint-Saëns, Camille) to the Category:Scores featuring the xylophone page. It appears that this needs to be done by tagging. Is the something that I can do or does have to be done only users involved in the Categorization Project.

It can only be done by the tagging team, but the featured instruments list is strictly reserved for cases where the instrument has a solo (concertante) part. In the Danse macabre the xylophone is played by one of the orchestral percussion players and isn't given any more prominence than any of the other performers, so it doesn't meet our definition of a featured instrument.

I hope this news won't be too disappointing for xylophonists, but at least the solo part in the Carnival of the Animals does qualify for inclusion in the featured list! :)
